May Network Write up

victoriaavirtual

Hi All. Sorry I am a week late with my write up. Last weekend was manic and this week I have been laid up with Flu. I couldn't raise a smile, let alone an invoice but after 2 days in bed, I am back up and running, (just).

Last weeks Network event was a real BUZZ! What a fantastic night we had. I was the first one to leave at 8.45pm! I love that you all chose to stay and continue your conversations long into the night, totally proving you guys are building strong relationships together.

Stephen Wales has posted a nice little feature today on the group Facebook page leading on from last weeks subject matter, so go jump on and add your bit to it.

Steve and did a small presentation on Networking and referrals. Here is the small write up that we used.

HOW DO YOU NETWORK?

REFERRALS

As Everyone knows now, Town & Village connections Like to treat networking in a relaxed manner. Here we don’t force you to do business with one another nor do we force you to bring new members or refer each other’s business. You are all adults and let’s face it successful in what you do as you are all holding down your own business.

One of the main reasons however for networking is surprisingly not for the beer, but to help grow your business. This is where referrals come in.

We choose to let you organically refer without having to report back to us on what, who or how you are referring but every now and then it’s a good exercise to see if you are really helping each other out.

Since opening East Herts, now T&V who have I referred.

Stephen Wales – pest control to many, regularly on Facebook but off Facebook too.

Gary Robertson – to my neighbours when he covered S/A Also looking at possible clients in industry too.

Steve Heyward. – You’ve cleaned my carpets twice and I still need to speak to you about my sofa. You’ve been to my sisters flat in Harlow. Cleaned my parents house and narrowboat. We have also done some work in the past on social media etc and I’m always putting your forward to jobs on fb.

Mat King – Albeit as yet I don’t think you have managed to get any work; I am always recommending you for videography and I have a chap in St Albans that I would like to refer you to if you are interested. Will speak about that later.

Alice – our favourite pet artist. Let along has she done many images for me I am always recommending her for work on different forums and on our local Dog pages.

Ali Ireland. – I gained Ali the contract for the Air Conditioning company I used to work for. As much as I do not lie him anymore, he still pays Ali every month for an ongoing contract.

Pam Charman- Have bought perfume from you, not only for me to gift but for my friends to gift to.

Anita – I put her forward to take over 2 websites, one for Goosepig and the other a company in London.

Dave – always putting your name forward for weddings but also have been trying for the dance schools.

Jack RTA – I regularly put Jack forward for Mortgage and financial advice. Jack don’t forget offered a discount to anyone from this group. I am sure that still stands.

Toby Amwell clinic – I have personally took him 5 clients to the studios and recommended him dozens of times. He is definitely my go to guy.

These are just a few of the referrals I have made.

WHAT HAVE I GAINED?

2 regular contracts with both Steve Wales and Steve Nuttall.

Ali has just put me forward for a VA job in Stortford for 10 hours a week. Looks like I will gain that contract.

A whole bunch of new contacts that I like to think of as friends as well as fellow networkers.

THE HOW?

In conversation

Online

Email

There are many different ways.

I like to share your Facebook posts to my own page. It’s easy, takes one minute and cost nothing.

If you have an email address just cc who you want to introduce. Even if they don’t end up doing business, that’s ok.

Where you are chatting. How many friends ask for recommendations. How many people do you know who might consider using one of your fellow networkers. None of this cost. It is merely a few minutes of chatter and job done.

We can all spare the time!

Who have you recommended?

Back to the meeting! It was great to have new faces this week so in no particular order lets greet them all here.

We always love having new people join and hopefully you'll all be regular visitors from now on. Your stories were completely different but superbly interesting but of course the meeting had to close out on a little magic! after all you're never too old for a little hocus pocus.

Thank you to all who came.

I am so sorry that I can't make next month. As you know its the date of the funeral which is in Southampton. Im pretty sure you'll all be gone by the time I get home. You have Dave Hadley Presenting for me. I know he will do a fabulous job.

Additional shoutout to the people I couldn't tag

James Nicolson Beth Molloy Steve Nuttall and Amy Wales
